This book addresses one of the greatest mysteries that people have tried to understand for ages: the mystery of evil.

How did evil begin in a world created by a God who is completely good and full of wisdom? Why did God allow evil to come into existence and grow to such an extent? Why does evil seem to be winning everywhere today? Why is there so much sickness, poverty, and suffering in the world? Does God have no interest in helping us?

These questions are answered in this book. Is it because God could not control evil? We often see people suffering in different parts of the world, and our hearts are moved with compassion. Then why would the heart of a God who is full of mercy not be moved even more?

Before we go further, we must understand this truth: our human reasoning cannot tell us what God is really like. We cannot fully understand God. God has revealed Himself to us in His Word. God is perfect in wisdom; He is all-powerful, all-sufficient, and all-knowing. He knows the future and has complete control over the entire universe — not only the earth, but the whole heavens with its millions of planets and stars.

About the Authors
Jack and Annie Poonen have been serving the Lord in India for nearly 56 years. Through making disciples and planting churches in India and abroad, they have been used by God to build the Church of Jesus Christ. Jack is a former naval officer. Annie is a medical doctor. They have four married sons, all of whom are disciples of the Lord Jesus.
